All Surgery Summit participants are encouraged to attend ACVAA programs and events, including the ACVAA Residents’ Reception at the Hyatt Regency Portland: Deschutes B, Thursday, 7–9 pm, and the North American Veterinary Anesthesia Society Reception at the Oregon Convention Center, Portland Ballroom 254, Friday, 7–9 pm.

The ACVS Foundation online silent auction proceeds help fund research grants and education for surgery residents and ACVS Diplomates.

Annual Business Meeting
The 2022 ACVS Diplomates’ Business Meeting is open only to ACVS Diplomates. They are encouraged to attend Thursday, 11:45 am–12:45 pm, in the Oregon Convention Center Portland Ballroom 252–253. Please bring your lunch voucher. ACVS Diplomates will be notified by email when the business meeting materials are posted on acvs.org.
Attendance
Some events at the summit are by invitation only, but regular sessions are open to all. Seating and access to seminars that do not require preregistration are not guaranteed.
Continuing Education
RACE provider #50-26221: The ACVS Surgery Summit has been approved for 317.5 hours of continuing education in jurisdictions that recognize Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE), with 34.25 hours available to an individual attendee.
There are three ways to track your CE credits.
Track by seminar using the CE certificate on the last two pages of the printed Program Guide you received during onsite registration check-in.
Track by lectures using the Surgery Summit mobile app. Download the mobile app. For instructions, visit acvs.org/surgery-summit/app. You must log in once using your ACVS website username and password. Forgot your login information? Visit acvs.org/login. Once logged in, search for the lecture or laboratory attended and select “CE Survey” at the bottom. You will be directed to complete a short session evaluation. The evaluation must be completed for each lecture or laboratory attended to add the credit hours to your CE certificate. Once completed, click “Submit.” This will add your CE credits to your certificate. Once the evaluation is complete, click “Submit to Complete Task.” You can add additional lectures at any time.*
Track by lectures at acvssurgerysummit.org. Log in with your ACVS website username and password. Select “CE Certificate” in the navigation. Under “TASKS,” click “Select Lectures Attended and Complete Lecture Evaluations.” Search for each lecture or laboratory attended and evaluate to add CE credit to your CE certificate. Once evaluations are complete, click “Submit to Complete Task.”*

Dress Code
Please dress comfortably in casual business attire. Air-conditioned rooms can be chilly, so a light sweater or jacket is advisable for optimal comfort.

The Oregon Convention Center has two fully equipped first aid rooms, one located in the Exhibit Hall A Lobby and the other outside Exhibit Hall E.

Both the Hyatt Regency and the Doubletree by Hilton feature well-equipped fitness centers that include cardio machines and free weights.

Luggage Storage
Check your luggage at your hotel for later pick-up. There is no storage available at the Oregon Convention Center.

Dated lunch vouchers are included in your registration envelope. Bring your vouchers to receive complimentary lunch at one of the lunch stations in the exhibit hall on Thursday, 11:30 am–1 pm, and Friday and Saturday, noon–1:30 pm.

Merchandise/Scrubs
ACVS scrubs and other merchandise are for sale beginning Thursday, 1:30, in the registration area.
Maintenance of Certification
The 2022 ACVS Surgery Summit is an ACVS Diplomate maintenance of certification (MOC) activity.
To have ACVS record this activity on your MOC record, ACVS Diplomates must complete the post-presentation questions in the Surgery Summit mobile app for each lecture they attend by October 24, 2022. ACVS will upload the 2022 ACVS Surgery Summit activity to MOC records on October 25, 2022.
ACVS Diplomates who attend the 2022 ACVS Surgery Summit but do not complete the post-presentation questions by October 24, 2022, may still claim their activity points by adding the meeting to their MOC records themselves.
Mother's Lounge
The Oregon Convention Center provides two suites for nursing mothers. They are private and secure suites located near the A and E Meeting Rooms on Level 1.

A TRIMET light rail line stops at the convention center and runs between the center and the airport with several other stops every 15 minutes for a cost of $2.50. Masks are recommended but currently not required on Portland transit as of September 21, 2022.
