Limb sparing in dogs to treat primary bone tumors, whether with surgical techniques or radiation therapy, has a relatively high risk of significant complications. New strategies are being developed and investigated to decrease the risk of running into a complication or to correct a complication. Adjunctive treatments to stereotactic body radiation therapy are discussed as well as novel limb sparing techniques.
