This session will focus on interpretation of the most common arrhythmias (atrial premature complexes, VPCs, ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, sick sinus syndrome) and conduction abnormalities (1st, 2nd and 3rd degree AV block, intermittent sinus arrest) encountered in dogs and cats. It will allow the attendee to develop tools to differentiate supra-ventricular from ventricular arrhythmias. Once an ECG diagnosis has been made it will be determined if treatment is indicated and if yes, what treatment is optimal.

Learning Objectives:

Be able to differentiate supraventricular from ventricular premature beats.
Determine what factors play a role in treatment, both if to treat and what medication is indicated.
Differentiate 2nd and 3rd degree heart block
