We will discuss the legal use of drugs in farm animals as covered by the AMDUCA (1994). The AMDUCA allowed veterinarians to use human or animal drugs in an extra-label manner. The use of drugs in an extra-lablel manner was accompanied by specific conditions (VCPR, safety, efficacy, residues, prohibited drugs.
