During this session the presenter will review recent advances in the treatment of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) with specific reference to neurological FIP and recently developed antiviral drugs. There will be a short overview of coronavirus infections in the CNS and discussion of the development and experimental and clinical trial data with a focus on the nucleoside analog GS-441524. Specific issues relating to CNS infection will be addressed and data from treatment of a large cohort of presumptive CNS FIP cats with unapproved GS-441524 drug will be discussed. The session will finish with a discussion of future directions for therapeutic development.
