Although innovative modifications to many diagnostic and treatment protocols have made it efficacious and precise for many TBI-related health conditions, some important gaps remain that could potentially translate research more closely to the needs of this patient population. Understanding complexities around obtaining clinical trial data, analyzing neuroimaging and blood biomarker variables, and relating behavioral performance to these variables can provide high accuracy in both diagnosis and treatment. The end result of obtaining, analyzing, and translating this interplay of data into clinical care is a better translation, efficiency, and lower cost for healthcare overall.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will understand the various levels of neuroimaging analysis required in assessment of brain age and diffuse axonal injury caused by TBI.
Participants will develop an appreciation of non-invasive state-of-the-art treatment techniques available in clinical and research settings.
Participants will be able to evaluate current available literature on treatment, especially clinical trials, for gaps that exist for healthcare disparities.
