Dr. Maheen Mausoof Adamson completed her Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Southern California and a postdoctoral fellowship in psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford School of Medicine. She currently serves as Clinical Research Director for Rehabilitation Service at VAPAHCS and Clinical Associate Professor (Affiliated) in the Department of Neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is the newly appointed Director of Research at a national center focused on Women and military-related exposures (WRIISC-WOMEN). Dr. Adamson has over 15 years of experience directing large diverse teams to develop and implement several multi-site and longitudinal studies utilizing innovative tools for neuroimaging, neuromodulation, genetics, proteomics and behavioral performance for improving the lives of adults with traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer’s disease, pain, and depression. Serving as the Director of the VA Polytrauma Ph.D. Fellowship, she has mentored approximately 15 postdoctoral fellows and 3 MD Fellows, and consistently mentors clinical residents at Stanford School of Medicine in the departments of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, and Neurosurgery. Dr. Adamson recently completed the Stanford Byer’s Biodesign Faculty Innovation Fellowship and a Masters of Science in Healthcare Leadership at Brown University’s School of Professional Studies. Her overall focus is to employ healthcare innovations in translational neuroscience research to develop and enhance the current therapeutic approaches to provide evidence-based treatments to all, especially those who face healthcare access barriers.
