Millions of Americans, lacking health care coverage, have no access to rehabilitation services. Recognizing the impact of health disparities among the uninsured population, the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Established National Health Objectives to promote health among all Americans. Healthy People 2020 emphasizes eliminating health disparities and achieving health equity. The primary goal of this workshop is to provide clinicians the knowledge and skills to develop and implement free rehabilitation clinics with volunteers, grants, donors and community partners that maximizes independence, wellness, and community participation for people with brain, stroke, spinal cord injury and amputees.

Learning Objectives:

1. Upon Completion, participant will be able to Define the core rehabilitation needs for uninsured and under insured for people with brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and amputees
2. Identify the steps to development of Free Rehab Clinics
3. List the steps of implementation strategies for success
4. Understand the future goals for support services for this population
