The aim of the 6th annual women in rehabilitation science symposium is to provide an overview of barriers/facilitators that can emerge in holding academic, research, and administrative roles from a personal perspective with a gender lens. Presenters include Monique R. Pappadis, MEd, PhD, Alison L. Cogan, PhD, OTR/L, and Elisa F. Ogawa, PhD. The symposium will provide examples across junior/senior roles. Lessons learned will be shared with participants. The presentation will include examples from research conducted in the area of traumatic brain injury outcomes research with particular focus on research within the Veterans Administration. The role of mentorship will be discussed across the career trajectory. Further, the extraordinary experience and privilege of being a mentor to the next generation of rehabilitation scientists will also be shared.
