Pr Martin Caouette teaches at the department of psychoeducation at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières. He is a researcher at the University Institute in ID and ASD and at the Cirris, a rehabilitation research center. He also is the chairholder of the Self-Determination and Handicap Chair. As part of the work of his Chair, Pr Caouette is interested in three areas of research: 1) the housing of people with disabilities, 2) their socio-professional and community activities and 3) their school environment. His work highlights the self-determination of people with disabilities, in particular those with intellectual disabilities or autism, as well as the practices of the workers who accompany them. Present in Quebec and in France, the Chair offers training activities aimed at different audiences: practical environment, scientific environment, academic environment, people with disabilities and their loved ones or general public.
