I am an academic neonatologist and the longstanding Director of the NICU-Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program: Early Childhood Clinic. The clinic evaluates 1800 patients/year from 0-5 years of age with a multidisciplinary team of therapists and psychologists complemented by physiatrists and neonatal nurse practitioners. Our clinic is one of a handful of sites who are members of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation's Early Detection Collaborative. We instituted Early Detection in our follow up clinic a number of years ago and have decreased the age of diagnosis of cerebral palsy. We are engaged in a number of projects to support early therapy in this group of patients and hoping to have impact on the outcomes. I also have been a co-investigator or site developmental lead for a number of longitudinal studies (described in my CV).
