Dr. Tysseling, PT, PhD, earned an MPT degree from the University of Iowa and a PhD in Neuroscience from Northwestern University. She completed post-doctoral training at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine and is now an Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences Department and in the Neuroscience Department, both within the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr Tysseling's research uses both in vivo and in vitro approaches to identify spinal excitability changes post spinal cord injury that underlie involuntary muscle contractions, and to investigate how these changes affect volitional movement post incomplete injury.
