Dr Cheryl True is board certified in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She obtained her BA in Biology from Augustana College in Rock Island IL, her MD from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and trained in Family Medicine at the Quad Cities Genesis Family Medical Center Residency Program. She joined the ACLM in 2013, and sought to enhance her skill set by training as a health and wellness coach, obtaining certificates from eCornell's T Colin Campbell Plant Based Nutrition program and the Rouxbe Culinary Rx plant based culinary program. She became a facilitator for CHIP, the Complete Health Improvement Program, and started True Lifestyle Medicine Clinic to offer this to community members. She is the Medical Director for the Rock Island County Health Department in Rock Island IL, and the Director of Education for digitalLM. She has been active within the ACLM, and serves on a variety of other Boards and Committees, including Vice President of the Scott County Medical Society, and Board Chair for the Quad Cities Health Initiative. She enjoys educating community members, students, trainees and health care professionals on the field of Lifestyle Medicine as not only a foundational component of health care, but also as self-care.
