The ACRM/BI-ISIG DOC Family education committee will update the audience on the progress of the DOC Family Education Project for implementing a website for families/caregivers to obtain information that is accurate, easy to navigate and understand. We will summarize the goals of the project, materials, focus group analysis of the initial stages and current status for dissemination. The focus of the presentation will be on the final review analysis of the materials from 20 professionals and 25 family/ caregivers. The 20 Professionals were made up of researchers, physicians, and clinicians with expertise in DOC and the 25 family/caregivers are from all levels of their loved one’s recovery: ICU ( intensive care units), LTACH ( long-term acute care hospitals), Subacute Rehabilitation/Skilled Nursing Facilities, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and home health/community based families.

1) Describe the goals and the organizational model of the DOC Family Education project
2) Describe the recommendations from Professionals for enhancing the content and materials.
3) Describe the recommendations from families/caregivers for enhancing the content and materials
4) Describe next steps for dissemination and increase awareness of this future product availability for families
