This presentation will demonstrate how to create, operate and manage a medical/surgical unit within an acute rehabilitation setting. Additional focus will be given to throughput, referral screening process, insurance and denial management as well as collaboration, communication and education for both acute care partners as well as internally within the IRF setting.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participant will be able to identify opportunities for expanded partnerships and growth with referring facilities and acute care partners.
Upon completion, participant will be able to implement strategies based on key takeaways to improve education between acute care partners and IRF facility.
Upon completion, participant will be able to conduct similar practices within their own facilities to enhance access to care, improve collaboration and communication between multiple disciplines.
