Since fellowship, my career goals have centered on understanding the pathogenesis, treatments, and outcomes of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and neonatal lupus (NL). I have trained with Dr. Jill Buyon, chief of the division of Rheumatology at NYU School of Medicine, director of the NYU Lupus Center and director of the national Research Registry for Neonatal Lupus (RRNL). In order to attain skills necessary to maximize my ability to design and perform translational research I attained a Masters in Clinical Investigation via the NYU CTSI. I have also gained experience with a large research registry, extracting and analyzing data that has been used for several publications and presentations. Since 2013, I have led the clinical trials team in SLE at NYU, acting as principal investigator on multiple industry, NIH sponsored and investigator initiated interventional and observational trials, and am well versed in all lupus clinical assessment tools and have transitioned to specializing in the care of lupus patients after completing a Pfizer fellowship in Rheumatology/Immunology focused on SLE.
