Maya Buch is Professor of Rheumatology and Director of Experimental Medicine, Centre for Musculoskeletal Research at the University of Manchester and NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre. She runs a clinical translational and experimental research programme in rheumatoid arthritis (early and refractory disease) and targeted therapies, cardiovascular pathology in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases and Improving therapeutics and cardiovascular outcomes in Systemic Sclerosis. Her research portfolio spans clinical trials, complex observational investigations and experimental studies.

Maya has been involved in several EULAR task force initiatives; was Chair of the Scientific Organising Committee, EULAR 2015. She is Chair of the NIHR UK MSK Translational Research Collaboration; NIHR-BHF cardiovascular collaboration steering committee member. She sits on the editorial board of several journals.
