I am a Rheumatologist pursuing a career as a physician scientist focused on the interplay of autoimmune mechanisms and pulmonary disease. I completed my medical training at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, followed by internship at Barnes Jewish Hospital and residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. Drawn to complex autoimmune diseases, I pursued Rheumatology fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center.
During my fellowship, I have focused on research in the field of interstitial lung disease (ILD) collaborating with the UTSW ILD group. I became passionate about interstitial lung diseases related to rheumatic diseases and in particular became intrigued about a recently described entity, IPAF. In order to further my career development in this field, I was offered a postdoctoral research fellowship at UTSW after completing my clinical fellowship in 2020.
My research goals are to improve the understanding of IPAF as a disease entity and to discover the factors that impact patient outcomes, as well as the underlying pathogenesis of IPAF, and to develop targeted strategies to treat patients with IPAF.
