This session aims to increase providers' knowledge and understanding of appropriate terminology, language, and expression to ensure respectful, safe, and inclusive communication with gender diverse patients. Participants will also learn new skills and strategies to enhance clinical assessment and intervention with LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Learning Objectives:

Increase awareness of health disparities and understand the importance of addressing LGBTQIA+ issues in rheumatology settings and their impact on health outcomes
Increase knowledge and understanding of appropriate terminology, language, and expression to ensure inclusive communication
Learn skills and strategies to enhance clinical assessments and interventions to provide quality healthcare to LGBTQIA+ individuals and identify resources available to best address the needs of LGBTQIA+ patients
