Dr. Alaa Babeer is a teaching assistant at the Oral Biology department at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Babeer received his BDS Degree from King Abdulaziz University in 2013 with an Honor Degree. Currently he is an Endodontic resident and a Doctor of Science in Dentistry (DScD) candidate working in the Oral Biofilm research laboratories at the University of Pennsylvania. He’s involved in several ongoing clinical and laboratory research projects at the University of Pennsylvania that focus on investigating the efficacy of antimicrobial nanoparticles. He is also a current trainee at the Center for innovation and Precision Dentistry (CiPD), working with a team of dental and engineering researchers to investigate novel antibiofilm therapeutic approaches utilizing magneto-catalytic nanoparticles. After finishing his clinical postgraduate Endodontic training and obtaining his DScD degree, Dr. Babeer will go back to serve as an assistant professor at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia.
