Dr. Cole has worked in the hospital and private sectors as a Clinical Audiologist for over 20 years. She has also taught college-level audiology courses and supervised doctoral audiology students on various clinical and physiological aspects of audiology. Dr. Cole holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology and is state-licensed. Professional memberships include: Fellow-ADA, Fellow-AAA, ABA, ASHA, and IHS. In 2020, In June 2020, Dr. Cole was reappointed by Governor Larry Hogan to a second term on the Maryland Department of Health and Hygein Board of Examiners for Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Music Specialists. Dr. Cole's dissertation focused on the impact of cognition (working memory) and hearing loss on speech perception in the geriatric population and gained her the 2014 Student Mentored American Auditory Society Award.
