Lauren Osborn is a doctoral candidate in the English department at Oklahoma State University where she is working towards her PhD in Creative Writing. Lauren received her BS degree in Psychology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and an MFA in Creative Writing from Queen's University of Charlotte. She currently serves as an instructor for Composition I & II, and assists in teaching ENTO 4440: Insects & Society Honors. She has also served in the Entomology Department as a research assistant. Lauren's fiction can be found in numerous literary journals, including: The North American Review, The Cincinnati Review, Willow Springs, The Laurel Review, Lake Effect, Fourteen Hills, and elsewhere. In addition to writing, her research interests include STEAM pedagogy, Entomology, and interdisciplinary studies.
Melissa Reed is a doctoral candidate with the department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Oklahoma State University. She is currently earning her PhD in Entomology. She received her BS degree in Biology, with an emphasis of environmental conservation, from Rogers State University and a MS degree in Environmental Science, water and watershed management option, from Oklahoma State University. Melissa has served as a graduate teaching assistant for 5 years and has served as the instructor of record for two courses. She is also passionate about teaching and mentoring, especially when she can help improve student’s research skills and knowledge of Entomology. In her research, Melissa is passionate in all areas of aquatic Entomology, but is especially focused on the impacts of human disturbance to aquatic insects.
