The complexity of premature infant feeding practices along with risks for long-term difficulties remains a priority among neonatal healthcare providers. Across the care spectrum, clinical practice for understanding and implementing feeding patterns are still unknown. Contributing unit-based knowledge will improve opportunities for others. Sharing knowledge while building relationships among healthcare providers will help strengthen the future of infant feeding practices.

Summarize how one NICU developed a program of support to positively impact successful oral feeding experiences within the NICU and during the transitions to home.
Discuss the utilization of pre-feeding skills, developmental readiness, and feeding patterns for successful oral feedings.
