Michael J. Smith MD, MSCE is a Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Duke University, and a member of the Duke Center for Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention. He serves as the medical director of the pediatric antimicrobial stewardship program. His research focuses on the epidemiology of pediatric antibiotic use in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
