Dr Jessica Katznelson is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She received her medical degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr Katznelson went on to complete a residency in Pediatrics at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC and then a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. Dr Katznelson is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. From 2015-2017 Dr Katznelson served on the Maryland Governor’s Task Force on Maternal Mental Health and helped draft the task force report. Since 2019 she has served on the Mental Health Committee for the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr Katznelson is herself a survivor of a perinatal mood disorder and since 2015 has worked as a volunteer state coordinator for Postpartum Support International. In this role she helps support women (and their partners and families) suffering from a perinatal mental health issue and connects them to community based services.
