In this lecture we will present 3 different patients that require blood product transfusions. We will review the different case presentations, discussing the clinical exam findings and diagnostics performed. We will review the different blood products needed for each case and steps on how to deliver these transfusions safely.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participant will be able to recognize the clinical findings of patients requiring a transfusion.
Upon completion, participant will be able to select the correct blood product to deliver and calculate the appropriate volume that the patients needs.
Upon completion, participant will be able to recognize the adverse events related to blood transfusions and how to manage these when they occur.
