Osteoarthritis (OA) is a most common progressive, and painful disease that affects nearly 40% of dogs and cats. Diagnosing and managing OA pain in our patients involves the entire veterinary healthcare team (VTH). In this lecture, Ms. Alison Gottlieb BS, CVT, VTS (ECC) will focus directly on the critical role veterinary technicians play in supporting clients and patients after a diagnosis of OA including reviewing the basics of OA pain and learning how to incorporate various screening and monitoring tools. Ms. Gottlieb will also discuss the importance of on-going management of this chronic condition.
