In this audience participation case-based presentation, we will discuss management of open fractures and traumatic joint injuries, including timing of surgery. Emphasis will be placed on common pelvic and hip injuries seen in general private practice – in both urban and rural settings.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to identify different types of open fractures and timing of surgical stabilization
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify different types of pelvic fractures and when surgical intervention, versus conservative management, is indicated.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify different types of hip luxations and treatment options.
