HO08 - RECOVER CPR Basic & Advanced Life Support Rescuer Certification

This hands-on lab is for Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians who have completed the online course, “CPR: Basic & Advanced Life Support” (8.5 hr. CE). For those who have not already done so, please head to the following link to register for the RECOVER Initiative's website. The online course must be completed by February 1, 2023. All participants will be contacted to provide their certificate. The hands-on lab portion will use high-fidelity simulators with heart and lung sounds, palpable pulses, and a patient monitor to review the important concepts of basic and advanced life support. Participants will practice running arrest scenarios in groups. The lab will conclude with an assessment of BLS and ALS skills. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certificates documenting their status as a certified BLS and ALS Rescuer through the RECOVER Initiative and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

Transportation: Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Oquendo Center for all hands-on labs. The pickup area is located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center entrance. Buses depart promptly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the course.

Dress Code: Please dress comfortably. Scrubs are recommended, additional scrubs are available for use at the Oquendo Center, if needed. Closed-toe shoes are required.
