Mentoring has been a veterinary buzzword for a generation. What it means to one person is not always what it means to someone else. A good mentoring program can differentiate a practice. It requires a focus on both the clinical and personal needs of the mentee. It is useful to have multiple mentors as well. But most importantly, to totally effective it needs structure.
