Specialty Veterinary Technician Session: Trauma is a common presenting complaint for cats coming into the ER and requires close care and treatment. Starting with emergency triage, work through various trauma presentations in cats and learn how to determine and respond to shock, choose appropriate pain management, and monitor these cats through their hospital stay.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize shock in feline patients and understand how to respond
Demonstrate comfort in recognizing pain in feline trauma patients and demonstrate a level of comfort in administering and monitoring pain management in feline patients
Collaborate with the veterinarian when monitoring feline trauma patients able to recognize and predict changes in status
