Specialty Veterinary Technician Session: Through domestication and selective breeding dogs have developed very strong relationships with humans. This enables them to be spectacular companions. But, many dogs suffer emotionally and physically when separated from their human family. This lecture will cover problematic anxiety and stress behavior expressed by pet dogs during separation. Risk factors, prevention techniques, management and treatment options will be discussed. Attendees will be better prepared to support clients and their dogs who struggle with separation anxiety.
