Diabetes is not only a lifelong disease for many patients but the complications are common, some are inherent to the disease and some are iatrogenic in nature. This lecture gives the audience an overview of the most common diabetic complications and approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Current literature is tied in when available. Complications discussed include somogyii, insulin overdose, diabetic cataracts, diabetic ketosis, non ketotic hyperosmolar syndrome and diabetic neuropathy.
