“Your pet has cancer.” Breaking any bad news to our clients is hard and can be stressful, for them and for us. It is a complex communication skill that you will have to do thousands of times in your veterinary career. What is more important than what you tell an owner about their pet’s cancer, it is how you say it that matters. In this interactive session, we will discuss cancer communication challenges for you and the client, and practical strategies that you can use in your practice the next time you have to break any bad news to increase efficiency and be more effective.
