Dr. Tom Furman received his D.V.M. from Kansas State University in 2004. After graduation, he completed an 18-month internship consisting of twelve premier practices across the United States and Canada. Disciplines ranged from, but not limited to, small animal medicine and surgery, equine medicine and surgery, beef feedlot consultation, and cow-calf production and management. Tom also obtained a veterinary certification in beef cattle production medicine from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln Meat Animal Research Center in 2008 and an M.S. in Epidemiology from the University of Nebraska in 2014. Tom currently owns and practices at The Animal Center in Alliance, Nebraska. He also holds veterinary licenses in Wyoming, Nevada, and South Dakota. In addition, he serves on the Nebraska VMA Board of Directors, and is current Chairman of the Box Butte General Hospital Board of Directors in Alliance, NE. Tom received the Young Veterinarian of The Year Award from Kansas State University in 2014 for his contributions to veterinary medicine and heads up one of only two mixed animal internships offered through the AVMA internship and residency match program in the United States.
