Dr. Megan Skeffington began her veterinary career at the age of 11 riding along on farm calls for a mixed animal practice in DeWitt, IA where she was born and raised. Dr. Skeffington attended Iowa State University and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She worked as a small animal associate veterinarian in Brookfield, WI before moving with her husband to Upstate New York where she was a Chief of Staff for corporate practice. During this time she was an integral part of a new graduate training program and mentored numerous technician, externs and new graduates through the transition into general practice. In 2016, she returned to private practice in Upstate NY until 2020 when Dr. Skeffington took a position with IDEXX Laboratories as a Professional Services Veterinarian where she could combine her passions of veterinary medicine, teaching and communications. Today, she supports over 1200 practices, is a per diem Emergency Surgeon for Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital and also is on the Board of Directors for Viticus Group. Having the ability to reach more pets and veterinarians on a global level is truly fulfilling her childhood dream.
