Various modalities exist for usage in our veterinary orthopedic patients to facilitate healing and return to function. One such modality that has been shown effective for various orthopedic conditions is shockwave therapy. This presentation will provide an overview of shockwave therapy and discuss the different types of units as well as the pros and cons of each. In addition, a review of the literature and usage of shockwave of various conditions will be discussed such as tendinopathies, bone healing, and osteoarthritis management.
