Following this session, attendees will be able to: (1) Recognize clinical scenarios when point-of-care ultrasound would have diagnostic value to screen for left-sided or right-sided CHF ; (2) Describe the protocol for global point-of-care thoracic ultrasound, including evaluation of lung ultrasound artifacts and the caudal vena cava; (3) Identify normal and abnormal images of lung ultrasound, focused echocardiography, and caudal vena cava ultrasound; and (4) Incorporate point-of-care ultrasound findings into an overall clinical picture to increase or decrease index of suspicion for CHF in a triage setting .
