Using live dogs, this lab illustrates the principles, techniques, and equipment choices for imaging normal abdominal structures, such as liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, genital organs, and urinary bladder via ultrasonography.

4 CE hours. Purchase required. Capacity: 42. Price: $775.

Transportation: Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Oquendo Center for all hands-on labs. The pickup area is located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center entrance. Buses depart promptly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the course.

Dress Code: Please dress comfortably. Scrubs are recommended, additional scrubs are available for use at the Oquendo Center, if needed. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Learning Objectives:

• Learn and practice how to completely evaluate the liver and gallbladder including intercostal approach
• Gain experience understanding the location and process to scan the entire kidney, both the right and left
• Practice the technique of scanning the spleen in cats and dogs and gain confidence in finding the entire kidney
• Gain experience in finding and understanding the GI tract and pancreas
• Gain experience in finding the adrenal glands
