VT49 - When Cancer Becomes an Emergency

Specialty Veterinary Technician Session: Cancer is not often an emergency. It is generally diagnosed or discovered during routine veterinary visits or when a pet parent notices something not quite right. There are several neoplastic processes that can bring a patient in through emergency prior to a diagnosis of cancer. 5 of the most commonly seen are: hemoabdomen, pathological fracture, lymphoma variations, hematuria or stranguria, and epistaxis. This lecture will go through presentation, differentials, diagnostics, and immediate treatments.
