Dr. Betzen is originally from the Kansas City area and completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology at Kansas State University. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University. After vet school, Dr. Betzen completed a one-yearsmall animal rotating internship. After completion of his internship, Dr. Betzen worked at two large and busy small animal clinics in Houston, TX. Dr. Betzen was able to develop his surgical and internal medicine skills before moving back to the Kansas City area to work as Chief of Staff at a small animal practice. Dr. Betzen joined Dechra in 2020 and provided technical and professional support for companion animal and equine products. He lives in Leawood with his wife, three children and dog and is a member of the AVMA, AAIV and KCVMA.
