Amy Mason, DVM has been moderating at the Western Veterinary Conference almost 30 years now. Following her graduation from Colorado State University in 1992 she moved with her family to Carson City, Nevada. Her friendship with WVC blossomed with her involvement as President of the Nevada Veterinary Medical Association. Following her move to rural Colorado she continues to enjoy moderating each year as a way to support the WVC, learn new information and reconnect with her "good looking old friends". Being semi-retired she enjoys competing with her young quarter horses in North American Trail Ride Conference rides and will be completing her Veterinary Judge requirements. Her volunteer work keeps her happy and busy: She volunteers with the Rocky Mountain Back Country Horseman as an upcoming sawyer and secretary: She raises and trains high quality German Shepherd Dogs for and donates them to service dogs for veterans and first responders with TBI and PTSD: she is a speaker at the National Military and Veterans Service Dog Conference. Finally, she hosts a TOUGH MUDDER Team every year - "Brain Tamers TBI Support team", where she encourages education and support of Traumatic Brain Injury survivors like her. This year she is going to TOUGH MUDDER in Jacksonville FL and Seattle WA.
