Jackie Ott Jaakola joined EveryCat Health Foundation as Executive Director in January of 2021. With more than 30 years of experience in animal welfare and non-profit management, she most recently served as Executive Director of Cat Depot in Sarasota, Florida. Prior to that Jackie worked for the Annenberg Foundation for over a decade, helping create Wallis Annenberg PetSpace – a unique 30,000-square-foot community space that features an interactive place for pet adoptions, an education center with innovative programs and a leadership institute. For many years, she was the director of the Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacArthur, a hospital for wild seals, sea lions and dolphins after getting her start with marine mammals at the St. Louis Zoo.
Jackie is a graduate of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, a member of Association of Fundraising Professionals, Association of Animal Welfare Advancement, United States Equestrian Federation, United States Dressage Federation, Alpha Dressage Association, and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
Jackie is an avid equestrian and shares a love of animals with her parents and husband. They live on several acres with horses, cats and dogs (as well as the various wildlife that inhabits the area) east of Sarasota, Florida.
