Ellen N. Behrend, VMD, PhD, DACVIM (SAIM) is the Joezy Griffin Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences, Auburn University. Dr. Behrend received her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and her PhD from Auburn University in 2001. She did her Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency at Colorado State University after completing an internship and having been in practice for 2 years. Dr. Behrend has authored numerous scientific publications, including journal articles, book chapters and abstracts, and has served as section editor for various texts. She has provided numerous continuing education lectures at national and international conferences. Dr. Behrend has twice won the Zoetis Distinguished Teaching Award.
