Medical Oncologist, Assistant Chair
Dr Kai-Biu Shiu graduated from the University of Glasgow Veterinary School, Scotland in 2006, with a degree in veterinary pathology from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2004. He completed a rotating internship at Cornell University Hospital for Animals in 2007 and pursued medical oncology residency training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, becoming board certified in medical oncology in 2010.
Dr Shiu has been in oncology private practice at VCA VESVSC in Madison Wisconsin since 2010. He is the Assistant Chair of the VCA Pet CancerCare Alliance whose goal is to raise the level of pet cancer care, through education, research, consultation and development of oncologic advances within the Mars Veterinary Health ecosystem (VCA, Blue Pearl, Banfield Anicura and Linnaeus). He remains active in clinical trials research, industry consultation and is a frequent speaker at national conferences. He also serves on the Morris Animal Foundation Feline Scientific Advisory Board, and is a member of the board of directors for the Dane County Veterinary Medical Association in Wisconsin, and Czar’s Promise non profit cancer foundation.
