Dr. Metzger serves as an adjunct professor at Pennsylvania State University and is the medical director of a thirteen-doctor, AAHA and VECCS -certified 24 hour emergency, referral and general practice in State College, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 and joined his mentors Drs. Dennis DeNicola and Alan Rebar in forming Laboratory Retrievers, LLC a veterinary clinical pathology consulting company.
