Dr. Lori Bidwell received her DVM from Michigan State University in 2001 where she also completed an anesthesia residency. She is a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia and is a certified veterinary acupuncturist and massage therapist. Her internship year was completed at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington where she went on to head the anesthesia department after finishing her residency. Dr. Bidwell has been a faculty member at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is currently an owner/partner with her husband, Duncan Peters, DVM, DACVSMR, of East West Equine Sports Medicine. The practice is based in Lexington, Kentucky but covers hunter/jumper circuits in Southern California in the winter and Northern Michigan in the summer. Dr. Bidwell also consults and teaches equine anesthesia for veterinary practices across the country and around the world. In addition, she teaches a preveterinary program in Thailand and South Africa with an organization called LOOP Abroad. As a hobby, Lori competes in the Amateur Owner jumper division.
