Dr. Hoyt Cheramie received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University 1993. He practiced in central Kentucky for a year then completed a large animal internship at the University of Tennessee and a combined Large Animal Surgery Residency and Master’s program at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cheramie is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He practiced performance horse medicine and surgery until he joined Merial in 2007 providing technical and professional support to the US Equine Business and Global Equine Commercial Development Units. He currently serves as a Senior Equine Professional Service Veterinarian for Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health. Dr. Cheramie has performed over 4000 gastroscopic exams and is recognized as a world-renowned expert on Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome. He has been an invited speaker at state, regional and national veterinary and equine industry conferences.
