Dr. Andi Flory is a board-certified specialist in Medical Oncology. Dr. Flory graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and completed additional training at Florida Veterinary Specialists and Cancer Treatment Center in Tampa, Florida, and Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Oncology. Dr. Flory has previously worked as an oncologist in the US and Australia until a little dog named Poppy changed the path of her career and led her to a passion for cancer genomics and liquid biopsy.
Poppy's cancer diagnosis led to Dr. Flory co-founding PetDx in 2019, as well as the subsequent development of a next-generation sequencing-based liquid biopsy test for dogs, which allows detection of 30 types of cancer with just a blood draw. Since 2019, Dr. Flory has been acting in the role of Chief Medical Officer for PetDx, and along with a team of MDs, PhDs, scientists, and veterinarians, developed a liquid biopsy test for noninvasive cancer detection in dogs and published a clinical validation in 1,100 dogs with and without cancer in early 2022. Dr. Flory has won a number of awards and honors and is widely published in the veterinary oncology literature, and she has a continued passion for educating veterinary teams on how liquid biopsy can be used in the clinic.
Away from work, Dr. Flory is interested in travelling, exploring foodie destinations, snowboarding, keeping up with a 4 and a 6 year old, and spending time with her husband, sons, and their senior dog Cheyenne, who is part couch potato and part canyon explorer.
