Brian Evans, DVM is the owner of Coastal Animal Hospital which has 2 locations based in San Diego, CA. He graduated from UC Davis in 2006 and performed a post-graduate internship at the Animal Medical Center in NYC. He started using laparoscopy in 2012 and published a paper in JAVMA in 2017 on the economics of rigid endoscopy. As an early adopter of telemedicine in the year 2014, he also published the first paper on telemedicine in the veterinary space in JAVMA in 2018. In addition to his own practice, he is also the Clinical Director for the telemedicine platform, Dutch.com. He is also a veterinary advisor to the post-operative care platform, Pet Path.
He has also served on the board of directors of the Independent Veterinary Practitioners Association, is the past president of the Leucadia 101 Main Street Association, and is a black belt in the Korean martial art Tang Soo Do. He also founded The HANA Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to providing free and low cost veterinary care to homeless and financially needy families.
